As a casual rugby follower, I'm a bit unsure about the new
Bunker system? Why can the referee/TMO not make the decision as
before? Do referees ever still show red cards initially or is
there a tendency to go for the yellow card initially and then
wait for the review?
I heard some suggestions that the score was changed in the
France game after the final whistle due to a conversion not
actually going in?

To be fair, the referee didn't award the conversion at the time
(he didn't blow his whistle or put his hand in the air; the
confusion was because a touch judge put his flag up and then put
it down again) - the mistake was with the scoreboard operator
who added the two points mistakenly.

The idea is to speed up the game but ensure time is given to red
card decisions. The referee can still show straight red but is
more likely to yellow/review.
Previously not all replays were available to officials instantly
so there was a lot of waiting around. By sin binning the player
the game can proceed, then the review officer has a further 8
minutes to decide if YC is sufficient or it should be red,
reviewing all available footage

Thanks.
I can sort of see some arguments for this but I'm not sure I
like it in general. I think from a dramatic/entertainment
perspective it seems a bit odd and I also wonder if it reduces
the authority of the on-field team a bit - people often speak in
football about the referee leaving a decision to VAR when they
could potentially make it themselves to begin with. Does this
not risk just being a further extension of this?

Referees can still go red and this is not then checked. I think
after Freddie Steward's red was rescinded pre "bunker" the
referees will refer it more often than not. I suppose its trying
to get consistency across all games.

I thought Angus Gardner seemed quite ill at ease during the
SCO-RSA game - he got into an unneccessary argument with the
South Africa captain and seemed a bit flustered late in the
second half. Maybe the heat got to him!

He didn't realise he was now the captain! Definitely the most
vocal of the referees, too many explanations (his downfall
recently)
A missed head on head challenge by SA very early on, TMO error
in my opinion

The yellow card in WAL v FIJI leaves a sour taste to me - Wales
conceded three/four successive penalties within a matter of
minutes in the red zone and just had a warning but Fiji getting
a yellow for a similar infringement. I'd feel aggrieved if I was
a Fiji fan.

Agghh - stopping a rolling scrum to give Fiji a penalty when
Fiji were moving towards the try line.
I'm usually quite rate Carley but don't think this was his best
day at the office.

If Curry's foul is deemed to be so dangerous then why are
footballers not regularly sent off after a clash of heads
especially when one player either goes in late to the challenge
and has no chance of winning the header? Similarly when one
player "makes a back" for the other player which invariably
leads to the other player falling dangerously forwards
(potentially landing on their head)?
