Yes very good from Sian Massey Ellis, potentially two errors yes
from Gillett, who seems like a fairly week VAR official. Also,
well done to Stuart Burt who corrected Andy Madley on the
offside rule in that scenario. Futhermore, it seemed like Steven
Meredith had a lot less to say than the other AVARs in the other
clips. He simply said Yes and I agree. Compare that to Sturt
Burt, Sian Massey Ellis and Dan Robathan (Spurs vs Chelsea AVAR)
They talked through what they where seeing. Perhaps this is
where they could have prevented the mistake. Similarly to Spurs
vs Liverpool where Darren England didn't even check at all with
Dan Cook before saying check complete.
Good to see they have already implemented extra checks to
prevent this, after saying check complete, confirming goal etc.
or confirming offside decision. Then good to see Stuart Attwell
checking that he can award the goal.
This VAR audio again presents how good an official Oliver is,
just so calm in his manner and the way he talks to players.
Brooks appeared calmer in this episode than in previous ones.
Still no audio from Paul Tierney, which is becoming odd. Only
him and Rob Jones are yet to appear (other than the newbies) a
Wish the Manchester City penalty in the Derby audio was released
in this

Whilst we’re clearly not doing spectacularly well with our VAR’s
lately, the comms and process in these clips were so much better
than a few weeks ago. The Gordon goal and Romero red were
excellently handled (perhaps on the slow side but i’m not one to
moan too much about that). The Maguire offside was fantastic
intervention by Sian Massey-Ellis, it appeared as if that was
one Jarred Gillett would have missed but that’s why you have 2
in the room. The Hwang penalty we know was a mistake, if I was
to overanalyse, the AVAR seemed quite quiet until Jarred asked
him to confirm his decision, perhaps he could have been a bit
more vocal?
All in all, i’m sure they’ll still be nonsense from teams that
had correct decisions against them but a marked improvement from
the earlier shows. I do hope we just get more and more of this.

I think it could have done with being an hour long. Suggesting
that two red cards were missed in a game but not playing the
audio seems to rather undermine the point of the show.
Massey-Ellis made a very good intervention in Fulham V
Manchester United.
I think it would be so much better if somehow we could hear the
essence of these conversations as the check was taking place. It
adds a lot more clarity and would help to fill the time instead
of everyone just waiting around and largely guessing.

(I.e not the Newcastle vs Arsenal, and the Man U vs Fulham
games)

Agree with what's been already said was the best communications
between officals we've seen and looks like it's improving long
may this continue.
Excellent, excellent input from Sian Massey-Ellis. Gillet
doesn't seem to be the strongest on VAR.
Agree the show probably needs to be extended to an hour. I would
of like to of seen/heard the audio of the Man City penalty at
Chelsea as I still think.its a foul by Haaland first

To be fair, that only happened on Sunday, so will probably be
among the next analysis.

One thing I find strange is that they refer to players by names.
Only needs one of the officials to mistake one player for
another and they've got a potential major error. Where as if
they use shirt colour and number that can't happen.

Agreed - although their names are on their shirts as well as
their numbers.
