With the Wolves non-penalty I really do think the reason why it
was not put forward for review was because Simon Hooper was
extremely adamant to the players it wasn't a penalty when the
foul happened. 'Nope, we don't give those' (and continuing to be
extremely dismissive to the Wolves players while it was being
checked).
Psychologically I think this had a huge effect on the VAR and
put pressure on him to go along with the referee's on field
decision, and from VARs perspective them knowing it will put the
referee in an extremely difficult position should they send them
to the screen. This is something that the referees should be
careful of ensuring they don't put any unnecessary pressures on
themselves or VAR by acting in this manner.
I feel that if Simon Hooper wasn't so vocal in dismissing the
claim, then Salisbury definitely would have sent him to the
screen, no doubt in my mind.

Well it was an very interesting holiday..
A business class upgrade for £600 each on the way out, one
jackpot handpay, slot machines hacked and all offline, finished
off with a nice diagnosis of covid19 this morning!
Oh well at least Mrs Thing is negative…for now!

It looks like next programme is scheduled for 7pm on Tuesday
(10th October) and will be shown on Sky Sports and TNT 2.
What incidents do we think will be discussed? There's normally
about half a dozen.
I would have said it would be interesting to hear the Aston
Villa V Palace discussion as it was a case of a referee sticking
with their original decision but it involved Darren England so
they might want to leave that out, especially if Webb doesn't
support England's decision. I'm sure the Spurs V Liverpool
incident will be discussed.

If they don't discuss the the Tottenham v Liverpool incident I
would suggest the programme is not worth making. Ducking the
discussion of incident like that would bring the whole concept
of it into disrepute. If only they could find someone with a
more forensic mind than Michael Owen (surely not a massive task)
to ask the questions.

the investigation into the events are complete

Agree, if it isn't complete there is no way they can discuss it.

I thought they'd said a review had been sent to Liverpool and
the other 19 clubs?
Even if there are still things being considered, I'm sure
they'll say something about it. We've had the audio of it and a
quick 'We're reviewing our communication protocols' will at
least say something on the matter. I don't think we're going to
get a 'We need to wait for Sue Gray' moment here!
They might well play a clip from this weekend's games to show
the updated communication protocols, presuming they've been
sensible enough to implement something.
