Well, perhaps I am being slightly unfair to Alan Young as my
opinion is based on just one showing but......lordy, lordy, what
a showing ! ! Maybe this season I will see him live and he
will have an excellent match and I can revise my view somewhat.

Some posters (including myself) were fearing that Alan Young was
going to be the replacement for Kettle in terms of producing
erratic and erroneous performances that raised a few eyebrows
and comments on these message boards…

How about away at Liverpool in the League Cup in August 2013 -
referee Stuart Attwell. Or was he removed from the FIFA list
after his demotion?

He was removed the January after his demotion. He officially
stayed on the list until the December.

He was removed the January after his demotion. He officially

Decided to get the Forest Green v Crewe game on ifollow today.
Tom Parsons giving out 30 yellows in 6 games, both teams had to
be on their best behaviour. But card happy Tom gave out another
7 yellows today. Now, I’m not slating the new rules, but half of
the cards he gave today won’t have been given last season. He
did give a yellow to the Crewe keeper for time wasting which was
justified tbf. He never did anything wrong in the game tbh just
needs to calm down on the yellows a bit!

I would say a good enough first game of the season for Declan
Bourne. In terms of spotting fouls and awarding free kicks etc,
no complaints. However, it felt like it was his first game with
the new points of emphasis. He set a low bar for a yellow on 15
for a yellow card for Connor Hall while he was taking a free
kick, which felt very harsh. As such, he booked Hendry for
dribbling away with the ball (when actually he was dribbling
towards the goal kick line) and Tovide for, what looked like
from my view, failing to stop the ball rolling away rather than
kicking it away, all in the first half. None of the 3 were
necessary in my view. I did think he got injured again in 2nd
half stoppage time (all 11 mins!) when he limped away, but,
thankfully, I think it was just a fallen off boot!

If Tom Parsons is just implementing the "new rules" then perhaps
it is the players who need to "calm down" a little and a
reduction in the yellows will surely follow? As you said he did
not do anything wrong in the game.

When he kicked the ball away, was he doing it to help Forest
Green or prevent the restart of play?
