Paul Tierney: Luton Town v West Ham

After last weekends questionable showing at Arsenal, an
exemplary showing from Tierney tonight at Luton. One slight
criticism I'll add is there was a couple of times he could've
played the advantage when he didn't. Apart from that it was
perfect from Paul!

Just as I post, an interesting VAR decision in regard to a
potential handball and penalty for Luton, arm looked
outstretched from Ward Prowse but no penalty given on review.
Certainly wasn't seen by Tierney so I'm surprised there wasn't
an OFR.

Has there been a change in the PL's interpretation of handball
this season? I can think of quite a few decisions where people
have been surprised the referee hasn't been sent to the monitor.
Obviously if just one or two incidents then it could be a VAR
error but if it's happening consistently then perhaps it's a
change in approach?

In law that's clearly handball. Has to be an error from VAR.
Edit - I'm going from the still only and have not seen the
footage.

What chance have the officials got?
For what it’s worth, I have a good view from where I sit inside
that stadium… but at the time I didn’t actually see it. The
crowd and players were actually shouting handball when it hit (I
think) Antonio afterwards.
The explanation I saw from Mike Dean yesterday on this thought
was ridiculous: Tierney can’t see it because he’s the wrong side
of the player… ok fine. But then goes onto say it shouldn’t have
been overturned because it wasn’t given on-field and wasn’t
clear and obvious!

Oh wow, that is just brilliant. Referee vindicated as he cannot
see it, but not an obvious error, so no VAR? Ridiculous doesn't
come close!!
Surely this is exactly why VAR was brought in, for the incidents
missed by on field officials (like the France goal vs ROI that
really kick started the VAR debate way back when)

I’ve not seen this incident but surely if it’s a subjective
decision the am OFR should be called for
