The fact that B Madley - wjo isn't even SG1 - gets a game before
Harrington & Scott is nothing short of a disgrace!

It is somewhat reassuring when facing an uphill task to play at
the Etihad that at least arguably the best referee available
       will be in charge.
Not sure what Brentford or Bournemouth have done to deserve
Bobby Madley but clearly something even more heinous that Fulham
did to get Darren Bond. Bond is it at least allegedly a SG1
referee, but clearly inferior to the other 'newbie' Robinson but
as for Bobby Madley, he should be nowhere near the Premier
League especially ahead of Pawson or Gillett (or Coote or Scott
       or Brooks or Bramhall)

I have no problem with Bobby Madley refereeing AFCB. He's had a
couple of shockers in the past, also had a couple of excellent
       games and is normally fair.

Surely there can be little surprise that Bobby Madley is
beginning to get his knees under the PL table again. I am quite
convinced that was always the plan ever since his Prodigal
return ( I refer to the parable rather a comment on his
       lifestyle )

Personally Robert Madley is a much better referee than around
       50% of the current group

perhaps he getting the games because he's a better referee.
I am sure Mr Webb will take into account your opinions on future
       occasions

       > Well certainly seems like Pawsons stock has gone down under
Webb’s tenure so far , tbh I thought in the last few months of
Riley’s era Pawson was improving - he seemed more confident and
strikes me as a referee who knew a RC worthy challenge when it
happened but seems to struggle with that aspect of the game now
and relies on VAR maybe that’s what Webb thinks aswell

I was thinking the same dave. Perhaps part of the issue is that
Pawson is a bit more of a European style referee (sometimes high
card count, more detached from players) and maybe Webb doesn't
like that. Who knows. There could of course be many other
reasons for his slightly lower number of appointments. I do
ponder though if he himself wonders why as England's third
ranked FIFA official (yes I know Kavanagh also 1st group but
clearly behind Pawson) he doesn't get better games.
Personally speaking I agree with UEFA's assessment. I think he
is England's third best official and very unfortunate to find
himself without more appointments to higher profile games under
       Webb.

Interesting observation Dublin Ref. I would say that Webb
sometimes seemed to have a more international style himself -
although even if that was the case that of course doesn't
necessarily mean he would favour that style himself in a
management capacity! But given the current struggles then
getting the best out of the likes of Pawson would seem both
       feasible and very useful.
I'm not a great fan of Taylor getting both Chelsea V Liverpool
and Arsenal V Man Utd in the first month of the season but
perhaps it says something about current lack of depth.
Some of the appointments seem a bit imbalanced so far. I think
Taylor and Jones both have 4 PL games, whilst some have 0, and
FIFA referees like Gillett and England only have 1.

It gives me no pleasure in saying I told you so. As soon as he
came back from exile I went on record here to say that the
writing was on the wall that he would be back on the PL sooner
than later. Sadly that seems to be the case and we are only 4
weeks into the season. On merit? Not for me, overrated and comes
across as full of himself. And of course nothing to do with him
       being a West Yorkshire man.

That might be construed as damning with faint praise [emoji6]

I remain somewhat confusticated about the continuing opprobrium
       aimed at Mr Taylor.
Even if I didn't know the guy I'd struggle to comprehend how
you'd not want one of the two highest ranked FIFA refs available
to cover a Man United (or City) game v Arsenal
