New directives - so far?

Generally seem to be sticking to the instructions so far, based
on highlights only.
For example, Bobby Madley sent off a player (2YC) for gesturing
for a caution. Hopefully message will get through quickly!
Has to be consistent though - Darren England gave a (wrong IMO)
penalty to Southampton. 5/6 players noticeably run at him to
protest and no card in sight.

Only game I watched was AFCB v WHU & they were stuck to by Banks
& team Had a very positive effect on the game, no rolling about
looking for free kicks, dissent was confined to a couple of
little moans, all 22 players got on and played ball without the
shenanigans & I'm pretty sure they enjoyed themselves out there
as a result. Long may it continue.

I’ve only watched EFL and non league games so far and have found
the referees consistent in cautioning delaying restarts and
showing imaginary yellow cards. Hopefully if it continues, it
will reduce the instances.
Unfortunately the referees have also been consistent in allowing
shirt pulling and grappling for challenges in the air. I was
hoping that would be another area that was clamped down upon. I
appreciate there are some ‘six of one’ instances but defenders
have got away with a lot in the games I’ve watched.
Overall though good work by the referees.

I imagine this won’t be a yellow but it did happen in our game
yesterday, Forest had a free kick and the ball was with our
player, our player then kicked the ball back to the Forest
Keeper to take the free kick there was no yellow and I can’t
imagine in any other game it would be, but could it happen in
this scenario as it’s only been kicked back to the opposition
player to get on with the game and not kicking it away

It should not happen in that scenario.

From what I have seen so far, the referees are sticking to the
plan.
We have not yet (I think) had a case of a second yellow card for
time-wasting or waving the imaginary card - that will be an acid
test.

What are people's general opinions on the directives and there
implementation so far? I was at Stoke v Rotherham last weekend
and John Busby seemed very quick to dish cards out for very
little when it came to "delaying the restart". One could say he
lacked feel for the game.
And from the few games I've watched on TV this weekend, there's
been examples of PL players not being sanctioned for similar
offences. In the Championship game I refer to above, both Brown
and Bramall - the latter a two-yard toe bunt that trickled at
snails pace - saw yellows for kicking the ball away. Yet I've
seen Alvarez (Man City) and others do similar, if not worse,
without a card.
One further point - what did people make of the challenges by
Konate on Jackson, then Gallagher on Mac Allister that saw the
pair upended booked for waving imaginary yellows? Thought
Gallagher was extremely fortunate not to be cautioned but Taylor
too busy dealing with the directives rather than dealing with
the foul.
So far, plenty of petty cautions with referees inconsistent in
their sanctions.

I wish they would just book goalkeepers for excessive
timewasting instead of adding the time on. The minute they are
at risk of potentially getting a second yellow which hopefully
officials won't shy away from, I am sure they would speed up.
From what I've seen officials have been far happier to show the
yellow card for other dissent or timewasting such as kicking the
ball away.

Scitt seemed to be onto Howe and Tindall as soon as one of them
moved towards the front of the technical area but the 4th at the
Arsenal game (not sure who but think was a SG2) didnt seem to
bother trying to enforce it
