"I want to give it all up", "disgraceful", "cost us £250,000"
Lovely rhetoric from such a lovely man, whose day was ruined by
one person, his own player
3 minutes in, attacking position, gives the ball away, commits a
late tackle, scissor challenge and correctly gets booked
Second half, in midfield, poor control, taken off him, lunges
in, catches Nugent late, receives 2nd correct yellow
I trust the alleged lost income comes out of the players wages,
as it certainly wasnt Moss' fault
I find Moss' style fussy at best but even I cant argue against
today's decisions

I think he'll have a bit of explaining to do to the FA this
week. What is a disgrace? There was a FK before the Derby goal,
but was multiple phases of play beforehand. He got the
Accrington Red bang on, two yellow card challenges. Got the
Derby Red correct also, and was rightfully nowhere near the
penalty area.

See I disagree, I don't think it [the second yellow] was a
yellow card, I think if that had been Marriner(sp?) or Oliver he
would've had a talking to.
This is one of the big problems with the likes of Jon Moss,
Craig Pawson and Anthony Taylor, they referee through their
cards and then create issues later in the game for themselves.

Was a lunge, albeit mistimed. Definite yellow card. Had a
"premier" league referee not issued it he would have been
accused of double standards/not doing his job/feeling the game
is beneath him

I haven't seen anything of this game yet, so cannot comment on
decisions taken by Jon Moss. However Mr Coleman has always been
regarded as one of the most popular managers in this part of the
country, and I know from the BBC NW News that he was really
looking forward to this tie and the chance to get through to the
5th round. It is a great pity imo if he has allowed his emotions
to get the better of him. That is all I can say about Mr
Coleman. Now regarding the recently departed manager of
Peterborough and his replacement..... ::)

The second yellow card is perhaps a case of which angle you look
at it and of course the speed with which it happened. A fair
decision though and Mr Moss was in a good position but I think
two points can be made. Firstly Oliver was praised for keeping
his cards in his pocket in wet conditions. But why should that
be unless someone goes of their feet as a result of a slip? So
we have the consistency debate even when comparing the top
referees. Secondly, I have read here on this forum about the
poor refereeing standards in the third and fourth tier of
football so I would imagine it would be a bit of a shock for
Accrington to see a good referee doing his job and what is
acceptable and what you can get away with.
I saw another referee who did a good job yesterday but still
upset one set of unreasonable coaches and no amount of effort on
the referee's part was ever going to appease them and it appears
that Mr Coleman acted likewise. End of debate. A sensible, calm
discussion was never ever going to take place. Mr Coleman's
comments are unnecessary - disgraceful even whatever his
viewpoint. His Chairman seems a decent enough guy reading the
article in the Mail yesterday - sadly Mr Coleman has set his
Chairman's efforts to establish a community club and his own for
that matter back a tad.

I can't believe there is even a debate about whether the red
card was correct. He's lunged at speed, got nowhere near the
ball and caught the opponent. Coleman should be taking it out
on his player for making such a silly attempt at a challenge
when already on a caution.

Hear hear. Not a fan of moss but both red cards clear and easy
decisions!

John Coleman has today made an apology to Jon Moss and
acknowledged he was wrong to imply that Moss was responsible for
their exit from the cup. As Acme Thunderer suggested, Coleman is
one of the most likeable personalities and his outburst was out
of character. At the end of the day, how many of can say they
have never lost their cool at work? If anyone can, they are
entitled to throw the first stone
