Just for the record if Dan Robathan gets hit with any peanuts
thrown from the peanut gallery - it wasn't me!

I do wonder whether this season Mr Graham Scott will set a world
record for the most games as a fourth official in the Premier
League in one season.

I understand MOTD only show snippets but what they did show was
3 examples of poor defending, 2 of which were correctly ruled
out for offside, thus keeping the score down. A well done to the
ARs on that would be in order.

Can I ask why? I haven't seen anything bar the MOTD bits which
showed nothing controversial

Why? VAR would have called them anyway. The job the AR these
days is to get the smaller decision spot on and keep the flow of
the game. They failed at this, in particular Betts, with some
some poor decisions. To use a cricket term they definity Bowled
a “losener” in the first game of the season as a team.

His implementation of the new rules was all over the place, a
player would get booked for tapping the ball away but then
kicking it half way down the touch line would go unpunished. A
very very petty thing that perfectly demonstrates this was that
both teams had multiple coaching staff on the touch line all
through the game, which is no longer allowed.
Foul perception was iffy too, falling too easily for players
flinging themselves to the ground under no or very minimal
contact (palace have done this for years, it’s bizarre that they
haven’t been found out yet). But then when the crowd got
frustrated at these decisions he wouldn’t give anything, even
the blatant ones in the following minutes, clearly the crowd
influenced his consistency.
That being said, first game of the season, there’s a long way to
go. Hopefully getting it all out of the system now.

Can’t say I was impressed last night with VAR officials wolves
should of had a penalty and how on earth did Michael Salisbury
and his AVAR not tell hooper to go to the monitor

Pretty poor start to the season, with only one or two referees
having a completely solid performance.
