       USA v Sweden (Stephanie Frappart)

On the final penalty which was awarded by GLT there seemed to be
quite a delay before the OFR was notified that the ball had
crossed the line (obviously in this instance it was an extremely
tight decision). Are GLT decisions reviewed before the signal is
sent to the OFR or are they sent automatically as in the PL the
OFR seems to get an instant notification if the ball has crossed
       the line?

I suspect (i.e. I am guessing!) that the referee got a "beep" on
her watch to indicate a goal but - given the significance of the
decision - wanted a second opinion from VAR before calling it.
Can you imagine the mayhem and chaos if it had been an erroneous
       "beep"??

I thought her signalling after the VAR decision was a bit rushed
and unclear - she did the 'cutting grass' waving arms symbol
meaning full time but I thought she meant no goal. She was also
surrounded by a Swedish player which didn't really help.
Think she would have been better of getting the Sweden player
away first and then announcing in her own time: pointing to the
centre circle and then blowing for full time.

I've never really understood the fuss about Frappart tbh. What I
have seen of her in Europe she hasn't convinced me, and her
performances out here for the WWC have done nothing further to
       convince me otherwise.
Thsi was another one of those performances for me.
