Soccer Saturday : Sky Sports

Not sure where to post this so please feel free to move it but ,
deary me Sky Sports Soccer Saturday is very dull I know it’s the
first weekend of the season but if this is what’s in store it
won’t have a lot of viewers , anyone else have any thoughts on
todays opening episode so far? Almost like humour and banter has
been banned on the programme !!

It's the pundits and endless advert breaks. Shame as Simon
Thomas is a good host

Yea the passion , the excitement the experience that the likes
of Stelling and the pundits brought was second to none , sadly
the current crop don’t have those tools yet if there was one
exception to that I would say Sue Smith she at least musters up
passion and joy

She may have passion and joy but wish she didn’t have to grace
our tv screens she is annoying

I watched some of it and it didn't seem the same without Jeff
but then I suppose you can't expect it to be. As a side note, I
thought Simon Thomas looked awful with the latest "fashion" of a
jacket over a round neck/t-shirt, rather than a proper collared
shirt which would have made him look a lot smarter.

I think Simon Thomas did well. He was totally hamstrung by
numerous technical glitches and these are so off puttting. In my
job I have been on radio a number of times, and once I had to
conduct an interview in a corridor with a caretaker rearranging
furniture. Anything that throws you off is multiplied by 10 when
live and on air. The actual production on Saturday was poor, and
he must have thought what have I done to deserve this!! Next
week is Mike Dean.

Good. Just go to a game then you won't have to worry about it.

A tad harsh. Many of us cannot go to a game on a Saturday
afternoon for numerous reasons .....

I did appreciate that as I was typing - hence the smiley thing.
No offence was intended to those who can't get to a game but
everyone else should desert the TV screen and get down to a
local game. ;D
