       R J MADLEY - Sheff W v Soton

A decent first quarter for Madley thus far.
I have to say that the new rule about the cards coming out if
the ball is being booted away after a FK is awarded is being
       strictly enforced, which I like.
However, this has to be applied “effectively and robustly” in
every match for players to get the message that the officials
and PGMOL mean business this season.
       We await with interest.

6 minutes for first half injury time! So they are applying that
       which is good to see

Thought Madley had a very good game first up - consistent with
cautions for time wasting and dissent which was nice to see. I
feel Windass should’ve received a caution in the first half for
a reckless challenge but other than that a good show.
Now, the new rules - how many weekends do we seriously think
they will be enforced strictly as per tonight? 1? 2? Maybe 3 at
       a push?

Imagine if Jim Parker was officiating under these new
instructions on what merits a card when he was in his “prime”
       👀😂

Stroud who has never been mean with the cards should have fun
this afternoon ! It may be wise to take a packed tea as well, it
could turn into a long day. [emoji3]

Thought he should have booked 2 more considering what he was
booking players for. Finally, booked their goalkeeper at 94.30
out of 95 minutes! missed one penalty and just allowed all-in
wrestling in the penalty area. I'm assuming the 5 players that
surrounded him at the end weren't going to shake his hand, so
would expect an FA charge if the FA are really going to clamp
       down..
Overall a typical Stroud performance. Surely this has to be his
       final season.

We all thought that year after year when the likes of Kettle and
       Grandad were still around…
       Anything is possible!
