Here is the updated list of 'final'games' for referees on the PL
and EFL. As usual, I have not included subsequent PSFs,
internationals, line appointments and, out of courtesy, I have
not included those who died in service. As always, I welcome

I would love to be able to add Ron to the list as I remember him
as a regular and valued speaker at our local RA. And my dad
remembered playing against him whilst he was doing National
Service in Singapore in 1957! However, I need final game details
to be able to include him. One for John T perhaps?

I can't add to your list unfortunately. I would however point
out that some names are omitted from your updated lists. Local
to me were Kevin McNally, Derek Owen and Alan Hughes. I ran the
line to each of these in the1970's but can't tell you when they
retired.

Thank you JT. I'm pleased that we've now been able to place Ron
Challis' last game. I'l add him + Farley, Porter and Toseland to
my database. Pat Partridge is already there and I'll amend the
entry for Derek Richardson. My one query is with Peter Reeves
who is generally accepted as bowing out with Cardiff v West Ham
(0-0) on 6th May 1981. Indeed, there was quite a bit of media
publicity about this final game for a fine referee and it has
also been mentioned before on RTR. I will leave the entry for
Peter as it is.

JT - previous entry for D Richardson (Lincoln) was Wolves v
Arsenal which was played on 25th April 1981. Stoke v Arsenal was
played in the first week of February 1981. Should this read
Wolves v Arsenal, as before?
