It’s hardly a surprise tho is it, whilst the majority of fans
across the world are ok there is still always some that have to
have a go, but the clubs do nothing to stop this. Slating the
ref after a game, surrounding him all night on the pitch, blame
the ref for your loss and no attempt to take responsibility for
their own actions. I also have to question how UEFA and the
Hungarian authorities thought it would be a good idea to take
him back through the standard route of an airport. Surely, they
should know by now that security arrangements should be made
especially in theses situations.
I think it’s a real shame for him and his family, after he dealt
with a really difficult game very well (in my opinion) that they
then have to be subjected to that on the journey home

Re the videos of Taylor being attacked In the airport, this is
what happens when you as a manager set the example u did Jose.
Any small bit of respect I had for him has definitely been lost.
Whether he was good or bad, Anthony and HIS FAMILY should never
have to experience that, most certainly not when doing their job
CORRECTLY! Also, what a sad desperate life these people have,
waiting at an airport to attack the referee! So sad and
desperate. Not a braincells between any of them. If Rosetti has
a brain which I do think he does he'll continue to support
Anthony like PGMOL have this evening.

No offence but italians are some of the worst fans in Europe. I
remember my dad going to Italy away days and the treatment not
just by the fans but also local law enforcement agencies sums up
what is wrong with them. Let's not forget this is a country that
cannot let go of its fascist past, and has even elected a
Mussolini-supporting PM.
Roma should come out and strongly condemn the assault on Anthony
and his family, and issue a formal apology. Failure to do so and
they should be banned from UEFA competitions for a significant
length of time. Let's see their reaction then

I’ve followed Liverpool all over Europe and Italian fans are by
far the worst. The only problems we’ve ever had in fifty years
of away travel has been with Italians. They particularly like
outnumbering supporters who aren’t interested in trouble and
attacking them. I have personal experience of this with my wife
at Roma in 1984 and Napoli in 2019. They are cowards. The scenes
from the airport will come as no surprise to anybody who’s ever
encountered Italian fans.
UEFA share responsibility (along with the truly despicable
Mourinho) for this attack on Anthony Taylor and his party
though. Why does an organisation that is making money hand over
fist allow officials to travel economy with the full knowledge
that those officials may encounter aggressive behaviour? Saying
they didn’t know is just evidence of their negligence.
UEFA really are inept. Of the ten European Cup Finals I’ve been
to their incompetence ruined four of them as spectacles (1984,
1985, 2007 and 2022).

Having seen the longer video of the airport, the security
planning of escorting the referee party to the airport is
shambolic. The incident was unfortunately hardly unpredictable
and it’s no exaggeration to say someone could’ve been seriously
attacked / struck with something. The police seemed very slack,
showing no urgency at all! This in itself needs addressing by
UEFA for future games.

Ban Roma from any European competitions for 5 years or until
their fans learn to behave like civilised human beings,
whichever is longer. [emoji35]

As if he'd not had a tough enough time during the game and in
the Car Park area he then has to see his wife and teenaged
daughter subjected to such appalling treatment whilst they are
all returning from what may have been the most prestigious
appointment of his career
UEFA have much to explain methinks, as do Roma and Mourinho

I hope Marciniak keeps the CL final and makes some controversial
decisions against Inter Milan, costing the game.
It will get to the point where UEFA won’t have many options to
appoint to Italian team games
Personally would love to see Taylor on another Roma game and
Oliver on Juventus but we know it won’t happen.

Too true, and this is what happens when appointments pander to
the vested interests of those competing. Doesn’t help that
refereeing is heavily controlled by Italians at the moment!
Knowing marinho’s antics, Sevilla will have been very anxious
about the referee appointment, and this is another reason why an
English ref was a good choice - one thing to our credit is
they’re seen as strong refs who can’t be influenced.
Same with PGMOL which is too close to the premier league. In
everyone’s interest to keep ref appointments completely outside
the clubs’ influence.
UEFA refs committee will lose a lot of credibility if it doesn’t
out very publicly to back Taylor and heavily criticise some of
the serious incidents.

Honestly find it shameful and embarrassing that grown men have
got nothing better to do with their lives than go to an airport
with the intention of abusing a man with his family, trying to
get home. Nothing but respect for Taylor for not reacting more
to the situation because I certainly wouldn’t have been able to
control myself.
Mourinho is, and always has been a disgrace and is quite clearly
the catalyst for this incident thanks to his pathetic actions on
the touch line followed by the unacceptable outburst in the car
park. However, we all know he will not be held accountable by
UEFA who will simply brush it under the carpet as usual, and
will instead just stop appointing Taylor to any games involving
Italian teams.
IMO PGMOL should boycott UEFA competitions until action is
taken, unfortunately the only consequence of this will be our
referees miss out on the top games through no fault of their
own.
A human being should not be assaulted for doing his job!!!
