Just to clarify, this list is speculation, the finalised list
for next season hasn't been announced yet.

I think our list for next season is now finalised
       Michael Oliver
       Anthony Taylor
       Paul Tierney
       Simon Hooper
       Robert Jones
       Stuart Attwell
       Andy Madley
       Peter Bankes
       David Coote
       Craig Pawson
       John Brooks
       Darren England
       Jarred Gillett
       Michael Salisbury
       Chris Kavanagh
       Thomas Bramall
       Tony Harrington
       Graham Scott
       Darren Bond
       Tim Robinson
robinson and bond were promoted so no promo for Robert madley so
looks as though he's staying at select group 2 level
(Removed Josh Smith as he was not promoted).

What's the point if you only THINK the list is finalised

I interpret 'think' as believe and am grateful to have the SG1
for next season listed so conveniently. If, indeed there are to
be additions or subtractions ( which I do not for a moment
imagine there will be ) then I will duly take note of them

Considering some of the talented and experienced cohorts of top
referees in years past, I wouldn't say this is a particularly
strong line up. Two excellent referees ( Oliver and Taylor )
four or five pretty good ones ( I would include Pawson, Gillett
and Hooper in that number ) ) and then quite a few journeymen
and a few who, with experience, might perhaps follow in Oliver
and Taylor's footsteps but nothing looking too certain about
       that yet.
       I hope this isn't a harsh judgement but I really don't think
it's a Group particularly strong in depth.

And looking at what is in SG2 at present, there isn’t much in
there to set the world alight either.
Only Josh Smith and Bobby Madley have had PL experience.

I'm sure quite a few posters would agree with you.
I guess one question that could be asked is how it compares to a
few years ago. The age profile has come down quite a bit - I
think Taylor is now 2nd oldest at 44. Of course that means quite
a lot of experience has been lost but it means most referees
should either be around their peak or, I would say in a lot of
cases, developing towards it. Obviously how high that peak will
be can be debated for some (!) but there are some referees who
have been promoted in the last few years who seem to have quite
a bit of promise (Jones, England, Gillett, Brooks.)
Hopefully Harrington will make a return on-field next season -
I'm not sure if he's refereed any pre-season games yet? Are we
expecting any retired (or indeed EFL) referees to be used as
       VARs?

It might have been posted elsewhere but Mike Dean is leaving
PGMOL so won't be a VAR next season -

I wonder if he'll do anything for the media?
