Didn’t see the whole game but he is getting a lot of abuse on
Twitter. From what I saw he had a solid game.
Especially in regards to this yellow card tackle,

/>in which many so called fans think it’s red card worthy. This
sums up the issue with football. Just look at the comments.
Lots of Liverpool fans seem to have this idea that Taylor is a
United fan. (Which he isn’t), in fact he tends to be one of the
better referees for us.
Excellent offside call from Gary Beswick

Clearly YC.
Reckless but feet never came off the floor so no danger to
opponent.
Set the bar of acceptability early on

Contact by Liv player was with his knee, not his foot. Nowhere
near threshold for RC.
Poor from an experienced defender however

I consider Anthony Taylor to be one of the best referees we’ve
got. I don’t buy into the Manchester referee nonsense that’s
regularly spouted: he’s totally professional.
However yesterday he was awful. His foul detection was all over
the place and some of his decisions were unfathonable. He didn’t
look quite “on it” and he fell for the consistent acting by
Brentford as they strived to get free kicks for their set pieces
that they do well from. The yellow for Alisson was ridiculous:
I’ve never seen a yellow for a goalkeeper for delaying restarts
given without utilising the step approach.
Everyone has a bad day at the office and yesterday was Anthony
Taylor’s.

Totally agree with everything you've said including the opening
statement.
I was there with my 12 year old lad. He knows I always try to
defend and/or explain the referee and their decisions. He turned
round to me in the car home and said 'baba, there's no way you
can defend that performance today'. I think that pretty much
says it all.
