Another Rochdale match for Boyeson.
It's probably a coincidence, but we will bow out with Haines and
Boyeson each having refereed us 33 times, although Haines also
has six pre-season friendlies at Spotland.

Bobby Madden has announced on his Instagram that he will retire
at the end of the season.
Maybe a play-off game to finish?

Unlikely, not really a sentimental bunch at EFL, especially as
he has only done 1 season

I didn’t want to cry when I saw the appointment of Hicks,
although I would have preferred a SG2 like Martin

You'll be better off with Hicks.

Unless my poor old eyes are deceiving me, Bobby has not had a
middle since Sheffield Wednesday v Lincoln on 1st April. So
probably already finished early a bit like Kettle and Huxtable
last season.
Edit - I've now picked up on the thread on Bobby under 'General
Discussion'

Congratulations to Farai Hallam on his EFL debut. Are the stats
on Soccerbase correct in that he has only had 4 national league
matches?
In terms of other appointments, are there any indications of
refs who may well be hanging up their whistle come the season
end? For example, Andy Haines leads a full Durham FA team at
Lincoln - could just be a coincidence?
Probably more than co-incidence. As an RTR contributor said at
the end of last season, Andy apparently wanted to do one more
season before hanging up his boots. If it is his last game, I
wish Andy all the best for the future.

A big game for SG2 Geoff Eltringham at Bradford City in view of
last night's result at Crewe.
Ditto Ben Toner at Cambridge.

I'm not terribly surprised but sorry to see him go. He's always
performed well on the occasions I've seen him at Crewe Alex. An
EFL referee since 2002 and one of a dwindling number in Upton's
2004 edition who is still on the list today. I wish him well for
the future.
