       Mr G D ( George) Green.

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Mr Green was a linesman in the sixties and his day job was
Headmaster at a junior school in Seaham Co.Durham and resided in
East Boldon which is a village situated directly in between
       Sunderland and Newcastle.
Mr Green was Headmaster to myself between 1964 and 1970 when I
was going grow up to be the next England captain to lift the
World Cup as I was destined to be the new Bobby Moore or Alan
Ball ( my two favourite non Sunderland players) playing club
football for my local and beloved team.
It was over fifty years later when on a completely different
social media forum discussing old school days a friend who
posted said " You do know Mr Green was a Football League
       linesman" which I didn't.
       I never did become a footballer as I couldn't kick a ball in a
straight line and had I gone down the refereeing route the shout
from the crowd that I was needing to visit an optician would
       have been sadly true.
What I am however is a bit of a statto and I would love to find
out what high profile games ( if any) Mr Green officiated in.
I know he did a few testimonial or friendly games at Roker Park
but would love to find any o!d First Division games or similar
       where he was appointed.
I can assure all this is only for my own interest to help pass
the evenings by and any information will be gratefully received.
       Regards

       Thank you.
That is a start for me.
I knew Mr Green had passed away but had no idea he was quite
       young when he left us.
       Once again........Many Thanks.
