Lots of this article is absolutely correct

Yes its from a biased angle but it backs up the points liverpool
fans have been saying about Tierney and Atkinson for years. Yes
all teams have a referee but Chelsea have had Taylor twice all
season, Oliver has done City twice. Liverpool have had Tierney 7
times !!!
Frankly ridiculous. A referee doing almost a quarter of a teams
games throughout the season is having a large impact on their
final position. Especially when you include games he has been
VAR on, and all 50/50 decisions go against.
[/qu
" Yes its from a biased angle " I certainly agree with that
bit.
As has been said elsewhere on the thread, the real problem is
the lack of SG1 referees. My understanding is that the Clubs
pressed for only the elite group of referees to officiate on
their fixtures. It should be perfectly possible to spread the
Premiership games around more among SG2 ( though be careful what
you wish for with some of that cohort ) and even LI and L2
referees who have been doing particularly well. Sorry to wander
down Nostalgia Lane again but it happened for years and years in
the old days that the top games were spread about and so it was
very rare for one Club to be refereed more than twice a season
by the same referee.

You cannot say that there are insufficent referees in sg1 hence
why Tierney has refereed Liverpool so many times, especially
when there are many under used officials this season to name but
3 Scott, Bramall, and Marriner.
The pgmol have used a few referees from sg2 over this season and
could have used more had they fit especially during the absences
of Harrington and Kavanagh.
This reminds me of my younger local refereeing days when our
appointments secretary sent certain referees with their consent
to referee teams where perceived problems had arisen ie the more
you complain about the referee the more often you will get him.
If Tierney gets the F A cup final this season then i guess it
more than likely he will officiate Liverpool again this season,
as he wont be appointed to man city and man utd. I will have a
guess he gets Liverpool v Villa second to last game of season.

I think it's very, very unlikely Tierney will referee Liverpool
again this season.
I'm not necessarily sure that there are too few referees in SG1,
or at least it's not by many if there are. I think there were 22
referees last season and that felt a bit too much, or at least
was based on how games were allocated.

Klopp fined 75,000 and given a 2 game touchline ban, with one
suspended. Rightly so since he was waffling

If waffling now attracts a fine like that there are going to be
a few people of my acquaintance with empty pockets.

Klopp Fine - P Tierney

What is the point of giving Mr Klopp a two game ban and then
suspending one till the end of next season - why? -absolutely
ridiculous in my opinion - and will have little effect on future
behaviour - surely at least they should have been two
consecutive matches - by the time the end of next season cmes it
will all be fogotten
I don't suppose the fine will be much of a hardship

Rather than a fine I think he should do 20 hours community
service such as litter picking.

Hasn't Klopp already had one ban this season after the Man City
game? The second game being suspended seems a bit lenient and if
they were going to have a suspended ban I'm not sure that threat
had to end at the end of next season.

Rightly so but why was Tuchel not given a touchline ban for his
comments about Anthony Taylor?

I still don't think Tierney needs to say what he did. He can
just give him a yellow card and say thats not acceptable.
Doesn't need to waffle on about Yellow Cards and Red Cards.
Because Tierney had no idea what happened, saying it could be
red, but Brooks told him it was yellow. No need for that it just
creates aggro
Also can VAR actually get involved? If they can why didn't they
look at Hatzidakis elbow?
