       The highlights show described it as an altercation, which would
       imply at least 1 player from each side. During this time an AR
       or 4th has seen something they believe is worthy of a RC and
       took that information to David Rock, who issued the card.
       Whatever evidence was found (assuming its video) shows that
       whatever happened was not worthy of further sanction.
       How does this happen? AR sees part of story? Maybe reactions
       from others involoved "convinced" them?
       Without all the information it is hard to lay "blame" at
       anyone's door.
       And with regard to manager's dismissal that certainly is not
       down to 1 incident, in 1 game.

       Once did a game, sent the player off what I believed was
       correct. In the changing room afterwards, one AR agreed with me,
       another disagreed respectfully and the assessor (as was then
       agreed with me). Player appealed went to hearing, as we listened
       to the evidence it was clear I was wrong. So told the panel so.
       In the heat of the battle sometimes seem different after a
       review. Errors occur, and clearly the panel thought this was the
       case at Lincoln. I have not seen the game.

       incident occurring on the field of play that every individual in
       attendance has a vivid recollection of them, and that every
       individual's recollection of them differs violently from every
       other individual's recollection.
       It is an inexorable flaw of being human that information
       received by the senses can become distorted when the brain
       attempts to discern or recollect said information. I would call
       it unseemly to imply anything other than human error as being
       the cause of the mistake here, as you appear to be doing.

       Sorry I wasn’t implying anything other than human error. I don’t
       believe referees are bent or biased (other than in favour of the
       “top six”!).  I was just trying to understand how such an error
       could occur. As I said, not seeing something is fine but seeing
       something that didn’t happen is strange and hard to get my head
       round.
