Kevin Clancy

I see the SFA have had to alert the police after Kevin Clancy's
personal and professional contact details were released online
during the Old Firm game on Saturday, with some messages sent to
him to be threatening. Been brewing in Scotland for a while
with Celtic fans claiming there is a VAR conspiracy against them
every single week and Rangers sending letters to the SFA every
time something goes against them, which they've done again on
Saturday. Feels the clubs need to send a strong message to some
of the Neanderthals that support them.

I despair of Old Firm fans sometimes. Really do. Absolutely
disgusting that Mr Clancy has been subject to threats and his
contact details revealed. Without refs we do not have a game or
a sport and the idiots making these threats need to have a cold
hard look at themselves.

Can’t believe this. Celtic and rangers are the only clubs to get
penalties and rarely ever get decisions against them!
Feel for Clancy - hopefully there’s plenty of support for him.
Worrying how his details manage to get found out and published

Yep, I don't even think the decision that it is assumed caused
this was that bad a call - personally I think it was harsh but I
can absolutely see why he gave it. I've seen many worse
decisions this season and I don't think anything else he did all
afternoon save a couple of nothing fouls in the middle of the
pitch could be questioned and overall he had a very good game.
There is just a really unpleasant atmosphere in games involving
these two just now and nobody could referee them without their
integrity being questioned by those on the sidelines.
Just while talking about Scottish refs, I've seen both Graham
Grainger and Grant Irvine for the first time in the last two
weeks and thought both were excellent. Irvine wasn't helped by
a couple of shocking offside calls (one from each assistant)
that needed VAR to overturn despite there being clear daylight
in it in both cases but their management of the games was really
good - granted Grainger's test was tougher than Irvine's but you
can only referee what's in front of you.
