I have read elsewhere of good reports of Trianini, who I gather
was French referee of the year recently and who in certain
quarters has been likened to Nigel Owens because of his
one-liners and rapport with players. Not a name I have come
across much previously.
Can Alfie or RCG maybe shed some light?

I think he is very good, definitely no nonesense, been impressed
with him when I have seen him (think he did either SF or F of
Pro14 last year?)
To me, more presence than Brousset (very Luke Pearce rather than
Matt Carley)

Tual has been around for a few years domestically and when the
experienced French refs retired in bulk, he was pretty much fast
tracked. On his day is very good, but can have a shocker and
missed a horrendous red card earlier in the season, probably one
of the worst decisions I've seen in recent times. He has
recovered well and learn't from that and having Jerome Garces to
guide him will do him no harm at all.
Certainly being groomed for the future along with Brousset and
Ramos on the international scene. Currently France's number 3,
he has the ability to be an elite ref in the future for sure.
Expect after the WC for more appointments by WR.
