Gillingham v Crewe 21 March - too many sub windows used
DIR By: SmokeyTimRobbo

Gillingham beat Crewe 2-1 last night but brought on 5 subs using
4 windows (no subs at half time). Into injury time they had made
3 subs using 2 windows and tried to make a double sub. However,
one of them wasn't quite ready and so they just made one sub,
taking them to 4 subs from 3 windows. They then made another
change, bringing on the player they'd tried to bring on just
before. This took them to 5 subs from 4 windows.
There is little chance that this affected the outcome, as the
final whistle blew about 90 seconds later. What do you guys
think the FA would do about this if Crewe were to appeal?

Welcome to RTR and congratulations of your impending promotion
to SG1!
One would have thought the 4th official should have intervened.
This one definitely went under the radar but will be interesting
to see if anything comes out of it.

I presume there was no possibility of any concussion subs being
made in the game?
It will be interesting what comes of it if an error has been
made.

Welcome to the growing ranks of Railwaymen on RTR. We number at
least ..... three now and new members always welcome. Award the
points to Crewe I say, but seriously I don't think anything will
come of it, although.... look what happened in added time in the
recent Crewe v Salford game.

I was there last night, he had the board with the numbers all
ready to go to do that 5th sub but the ref wouldn’t let it
happen

So a gold star to referee James Oldham and the naughty step for
4O Paul Kelly perhaps?
