       Forest v Newcastle - P Tierney

Forest doing their best to kick Newcastle off the park in the
first 15 minutes, two could have been potentially yellows if not
       so early.
Correct call for Pen, Bruno went down too easily, Tierney in
good position and cut the grass quickly

I detest this “theory” that it’s too early for a card. The laws
of the game don’t stipulate that a card shouldn’t be issued for
an offence based on the time that’s elapsed in the match.
Ayew should have been carded for that challenge on Schar whether
it was the first minute or last minute.

An incorrect YC there now for Forest. One of the fouls certainly
should've been a yellow and was far worse than the Forest YC.
Can't remember who it was tho 🤣

Possibly a case of Forest have committed 5 fouls already and its
a case of next one gets a yellow to try and get a bit of control

I've booked someone in first 5 minutes before so i agree
shouldn't be the case but you know the PL is all about the
       spectacle and keeping it 11v11

Shelvey lucky not to get a yellow for that too

Very poor from Tierney so far.
Shelvey and Ayew should have been in the book by now, and a
debatable yellow for Dennis when he won the ball from Trippier.

Incorrect call from AR and Burn booked, no idea how he cant give
a correct decision from 2 yards away.
Tierney lost control of this and only half an hour gone, he
       comes across as really weak

One word to sum up Paul Tierney so far - inconsistent.
The tactic of trying to manage a game is all well and good for a
referee, but when a yellow card offence comes along, it should
be dealt with appropriately. Sadly, Tierney didn’t, and Shelvey
has been very fortunate not to be cautioned.
Think the yellow card for Dennis was fair enough, but it should
have been on a par with what happened earlier. Then Burn gets
stupidly cautioned for disputing a throw in decision which was
clearly correctly awarded Forest’s way. The dissent was way over
the top and a yellow card was the rightful outcome.
What I find nauseating is the haranguing of a referee as well
when he gives a decision. A sin bin is the only way this
repugnant aspect of football can be dealt with. And Steve Cooper
should know better than to moan about referees (John Brooks the
other week, and tonight) considering his father was a
       distinguished official of former years.
But all in all, an inconsistent half from Tierney and an
       underwhelming display in all truth.

Why did Bankes send Tierney to the monitor for an offside there?

Not sure how that's offside, defender played the ball
