       L MASON - Cardiff v Huddersfield

Just seen the shambles where Mason awarded a penalty and was
then summoned by Burt to get him to change his mind. Looked a
penalty to me and I can't understand why Burt has got involved.
Incidentally both sets of fans on a variety of sources have said
how hopeless the officials were this afternoon.
As for Colin, he said it wasn't a penalty, naturally. However
I'm sure he would have blown his top had that been reversed up
the other end of the field!! Typical Colin.

I'm surprised the assistant has come in then because I don't
think you could say the decision was categorically wrong and
once Mason gave it I'm surprised he was persuaded to change his
       mind.

Shambles is certainly the right word. Seen it on MOTD, looked a
reasonable if not cast iron penalty to me. Unless Burt had seen
a previous offence I can't imagine why he intervened to make
mason change his mind. It will make for an interesting review
when the SG1 gather to go over contentious points.

Couldn't see from the MotD highlights but what was the restart
after the penalty decision was changed?

An uncontested drop ball to the Cardiff keeper. Not convinced
this was the correct decision either - the whole episode a
       farce!

It should have been restarted with a corner after the second
       defender conceded it?

Not convinced either. As with Whistleblower, I wondered whether
Burt had picked up on an earlier foul by the Huddersfield player
who then went to ground for the penalty. But then a free kick to
Cardiff would have resulted. I can only assume that Burt
convinced Mason that it was not a foul in the first place, and I
can see no reason otherwise why a penalty should not have been
       awarded.
