This makes sense from a medical point of view (delayed
concussion for example) and does away the tactical "head injury"
simultaneously. Of course the primary problem with these
"injuries" is not the blight on the game but that players with
genuine injuries are potentially ignored because of the
wolf-crying that has gone on before. This sounds like a
tremendous idea. I see no downside.

The downside is in the instances where the player has a genuine
head injury (caused by an opposing player) which needs to
treated (but not concussion related) where the player will then
be off the pitch for 5 minutes whilst the other team have a 1
man advantage.
It was interesting in the Carabao Cup final that early on a
Newcastle defender had a clash of heads and despite having on
field treatment he then seemed to be in a daze after play
recommenced.

I can't really speak for the PL although I am sure Collina has a
valid point in wanting to see an appropriate amount of added
time where goal difference could make a difference at season
end, including Liverpool v Man Utd. However my experiences at
Crewe Alex this season suggest that referees are allowing
sufficient added time and the clock has often been showing 5pm
or even later by the time we have been released from further
misery. And the Alex have been masters of conceding late and
crucial goals this season, the exception being last night (which
I didn't alas attend) when they won the game 4-3 in added time!

Am I alone in wanting to go the other way and stop all the time
wasting so that fans are respected and can catch their bus or
train ?. Would like :
Injured players are treated off the pitch unless the physio says
it is unsafe to move him, in which case he must be substituted.
No messing around with towels or shirts to dry the ball and no
player wearing gloves can take a throw in. Mobbing the referee
is an automatic action for all involved. Not immediately
retreating 9 metres or kicking the ball away to gain time to get
back in position treated similarly.
Impose the six second rule on goalkeepers unless an opponent has
deliberately interfered with his ability to comply and eliminate
team meetings during the match.
And then I woke up…

Oppositiom player standing in front of the ball when trying to
take a fk is another one that annoys me, book then for delaying
restart and that will stop quickly

The 'more realistic' additional time in the 2022 World Cup was a
breath of fresh air and with Howard Webb's new broom, I thought
this would be incorporated into the PL post World Cup. However,
we're still in a situation where inadequate additional time is
added, especially where there are stoppages right before the 90
minutes, or during added time. Even the 8 minutes at Brentford v
Fulham on Monday was insufficient, especially as there were
injury delays and a goal during the added time but less than
further minute was added.
I get the point about 'sympathy injury time' where the score
differential is large, but on the other hand goals
scored/difference can be vital and IMHO, added time should be
universally applied in all cases

Collina did say about games 'where the score dosent affect
others' ie knock out games, not league matches

At least we shouldn't be getting so much time wasting with
chit-chat on MOTD tonight! And as for ITV with their FL
Highlights programme, one of these days I'm going to put a clock
on how much FL football we actually see in two hours. I'll get
my coat!

For all there was a lot of added time in the first two group
rounds of the World Cup, it mysteriously disappeared, or at
least massively lessened, and it was reported that this was
following discussions with broadcasters. And there in lies the
problem, partly broadcasters and their schedules, but I suspect
the majority of supporters don't want to see boards with 15
minutes going up and would eventually start to complain.

Not a lot I record it to take out adverts and talking and can
watch a 2 hr program in half hr to 40 mins

Woeful timekeeping from Michael Salisbury in the Championship
game between Reading and Millwall today.
Four stoppages for Millwall head injuries whether real or
imaginary, a couple of other injuries, five substitutions
(admittedly in three ‘windows’) plus some time wasting yet only
three minutes added.
We had guessed at least five minutes. I doubt either team would
have scored if the correct stoppage time had been played but we
should have had the chance to find out.
