       Dermot, Ref Watch
   DIR By: Craven

I like Dermot, he comes across as a decent fella, and I’ve heard
from those who know him that he’s a funny guy, too. Having said
that, he doesn’t half come out with some utter goulash
sometimes! The Fernandes slap, shove, push, call it what you
want, on the AR is bang out of order. For Dermot to say that
it’s best just to let it go because the AR put his hands on
Fernandes first is some of the biggest nonsense I’ve ever heard.
The AR is just trying to stop Fernandes getting at the Liverpool
player, he’s actually trying to help him.
I’m really struggling to see the logic behind the stance that
Dermot is taking, and if I’m honest, with this, and a few other
things he’s come out with in recent weeks, it’s becoming
difficult to take him seriously which is a real shame

I see where Dermot was coming from , but agree with you more
       Craven.
Be interesting if it is being 'looked at' by the
       authorities..........
Wasn't it nice that there was a weekend with no major referee
       disasters though?

Dermot is indeed noted for his sense of humour which is the
       driest of the dry.

I've always thought that apart from customary handshakes before
and after a game, it's best for Officials not to touch a player.
That way, you can't be accused of anything and it makes your
case that much stronger if a player touches you. I didn't see it
as my job to act as peacemaker between feuding players and
intervene physically. My job was to observe and take action
       accordingly.

How many penalties did he say that Arsenal should not of got
       then I didn't watch it

I've never thought Gallagher was especially good in a TV role
and I think is part of the problem with a poor quality
communications operation when it comes to reviewing refereeing
       decisions.

I can safely say one thing…
I’d rather listen to Gallagher than Hackett.
