R JONES - Soton v Leicester

I think it should have been red for Alcaraz for his potential
ankle breaking challenge.
Looked red on first viewing and IMO is reckless and dangerous.

I for one at very pleased to see a penalty given for such a
handball on field without the need of VAR. Well done to AR1 Ian
Hussin who flagged.
The Soton goal took a while to check for offside, but the first
angle given to VAR did not show the position of Che Adams legs -
the second and final angle showed that he was just onside so
good to make sure rather than guess.

Reckless, by definition, is a caution. On the orange scale for
me, and what saves him is he lands on the opponent's foot rather
than leg.

I think if Jones had gone red VAR couldn’t overturn the call
it’s fair to say.

Good showing from Jones again. Penalty was the correct decision
- although situations like this aren’t consistently given for
some reason. Alcarez tackle for me was a yellow, but wouldn’t
have been overturned if it was given as red. Jones very quick to
diffuse any boiling points, mostly revolving around Maddison
being kicked from all angles.

Agree, one of those that VAR won't get involved in either way.

Agree. Two-footed lunge with a very dangerous contact point.
SFP.
(EDIT: To be clear, no blame for Jones or VAR Tony Harrington
here, for PGMOL (disappointingly) a caution will be 100%
correct)

Only seen highlights on SKY and MoTD but, for me, Rob was decent
during the game.
Stepped in quickly to stop a possible flashpoint in the 2nd half

I think "two-footed" is a bit of a stretch...

Very clearly one foot challenge, if you are struggling to see
that fact then your judgement on the rest is clearly flawed.
