I was hoping to see the first Mike Dean tv signal after the VAR
checked the third goal for offside... but it wasn't to be!!

I would love to see the EFL appoint a long serving NL ref to the
second leg of this match as recognition of service following the
       first leg result!

A clean sheet for the card shark. I agree that it would be
fantastic for a NL to get the second leg. A rare chance but
they’ll probably go at least SG2, perhaps Madley or even Robert
       Jones?

Not sure how much of an award it would be. Refereeing at a
league 1 ground with the league 1 team almost certainly playing
a bunch of kids. Yes it is a semi-final, but one that was
completely over after 30 minutes of the first leg.

He took pity on Burton a bit - should really have been more than
       two minutes injury time!
I wonder who will get the second leg. Maybe someone like East -
a SG referee who would normally be unlikely for a cup
       semi-final.

Presumably, although now effectively a dead rubber, if any City
player receives a RC in the 2nd leg they would be suspended for
       the final.

.... or Breakspear! Seriously, the 2nd leg will I suggest be
more like a Checkatrade Trophy match and would be ideal for
someone like Dean Whitestone who probably doesn't want to give
up the day job for a few years as SG2. I agree however that East
or an up-and-coming SG2 are more likely.
