As in recent weeks Newcastle lack a clinical finisher in front
of goal.
I must say my misgivings of the appointment of Coote to this
game have been unfounded

I thought David Coote & his team made a positive contribution to
a decent game of football, for the neutral.
Sure you can find something to complain about depending on which
team you support or how much you dislike the referee but there
were no major clangers, no game changing errors, the game flowed
well and was an enjoyable one to watch.
I'm disappointed for Newcastle, was hoping they'd do it for
Eddie & Jas but it wasn't to be.
Well done David & team, they can be happy with their
contribution to the game.

I thought Coote and his team had a good game , I wasn’t too
happy at first when he resorted to cards early on but then again
Attwell earlier tried to keep his cards in his pocket and it
backfired I thought Coote was consistent with his carding and
dealt with the flashpoints well

No KMIs in a cup final so im sure Coote will be happy to get
through it unscathered.
Wasnt fantastic but wasnt poor, probably give him comfortable
7/10 as thought Man Utd got a fair few very soft FKs 2nd half
but the best team won on the day.

Very good performance. The foul that led to Man Utd's first
goal was clear, from one angle it looked shoulder to shoulder
but from another it was a clear barge into the back.

I was relieved and pleased for David Coote that the game passed
with no kmi errors or major controversial incidents.
It was an interesting contrast between the 2 televised games
with Stuart Attwell trying to manage events and players for the
Spurs v Chelsea encounter, while David Coote's approach
appeared to be to show his authority with that early caution for
Dalot and be consistent thereafter, even if it resulted in a
second YC for someone.
The stats show 6 YCs for MU and 3 for NU, although I'd wrongly
counted it as 7 and 4. The cards could all be justified and yet
it didn't really strike me as that sort of game despite the odd
show of handbags.
If anything, I would have expected the 2 approaches to be
reversed, given the history of some past Spurs v Chelsea clashes
including that infamous match, and a more lenient style for the
Caribou Cup Final.
Anyway, well done to David Coote and his team, including VAR
it's good to say.
