Dean Whitestone Coventry v Sunderland

Well at least he was able to count each side had eleven players
at any one time,he had the ability to blow his whistle and that
the grass was green.
How can a player be fouled THREE times in one move, finally
being tripped and drawing a foul before then receiving a yellow
card ?
So much for a referee having a duty to protect the players.
Better leave it there.

Very refreshing to see a referee not get fooled by diving
players. I thought he had a very good game. Alot of
confrontations dealt with correctly and with common sense.
Overall a decent performance.

So what part of being fouled is deemed to be worthy of a YC then
?

I only saw this first half of this but didn't see what all the
Sunderland fans social media fuss was about. Roberts went down
far too easily in the box, could have easily been booked for
simulation. Good spot from Whitestone not to give it.
Then for the Diallo card referenced above, Whitestone allows him
to continue his run towards the area until he's upended by
Eccles. That trip gets a reaction from Diallo and several
Sunderland players - mainly defenders charging 25+ yards to get
involved rather unnecessarily. Eccles rightly booked for the
foul, Diallo booked for his reaction. Overall, seemed a very
tetchy first 45 minutes, mainly due to poor player behaviour
rather than the referee's performance.
Would imagine there'll be an FA charge on it's way to Sunderland
for failing to control their players.

Coventry were no shrinking violets either especially in the
first half in front of the dugout.
Or is that different?

I guess the FA charge letter to Sunderland has either been lost
in the post or disappeared into the
ether.......😀😀😀
