VAR wasn't gonna overturn it, but extremely soft penalty given
to Barca. Also, a clear YC not even given a foul right in front
of the AR by Shaw in the opening moments. Not great so far.

Not impressed by Turpin thus far as we approach half time , as
Adam said he missed the fouls by shaw in addition also missed a
clear foul on Rashford on the edge of the box early on the
penalty whilst soft wasn’t wrong

Missed one of the easiest yellow cards for Fred as well. How he
wasn't booked is baffling.. An interesting first-half
performance from the official

Whilst the penalty is not wrong it is absolutely soft as soft
can be. I don’t understand the decision as he let 3 fouls go
earlier on that were arguably more worthy of a foul, including
the foul by Shaw 1 minute in and the clear foul on rashford on
the edge of the box.
A lot of very bemusing decisions throughout. He needs to up his
game in the 2nd half

Based off the pen, that's a foul by Fernandes in the build up to
the 2nd Utd goal, just saying 🤨!
Also I know a lot of people won't agree with this but violently
intentionally firing the ball at a vulnerably exposed player
should be a RC for violent conduct, in my opinion.

Absolute dross from Turpin. A very questionable performance all
round. From him and his assistants. Not good enough for an
experienced elite. Somehow worse than Mariani last week.

Well, if that performance had been by either of our two elite
referees, let's just say I would have been disappointed. Some
correct YCs in the 2nd half but fairly obvious ones.
Have to agree that having missed or let go a couple of more
obvious fouls early in the 1st half, the penalty decision was
soft but not a clear and obvious error. Fernandes never learns,
and kicking the ball at an opponent like that isn't clever. He
can probably be thankful the colour of the card was only yellow.
Still, the teams provided 2 exciting, competitive and
entertaining matches which after all is the purpose of football!
