Accrington v Shrewsbury

Clear elbow off the ball by Accrington playerin first five
minutes yesterday. Can understand it being missed until play
restarted with a free kick to Shrewsbury. Of the officials saw
enough for a free kick how did player not even get spoken to?

Charge raised. 5th time this season The FA have decided a
Shrewsbury game has finished with incorrect number of players. 3
overturned red cards and 2 opponents charged after the game for
elbowing players. This one I could understand as very off the
ball.

On a more general point, in my 30+ years of watching mainly
League 1 and League 2 games, I am seeing more and more referees
being unbelievably pedantic (albeit yes, they are enforcing the
laws of the game) with relatively small details*, and missing
many more KMIs.
*For example the exact spot throw ins should be taken from, and
recently the vanishing spray being used to mark the exact place
of free kicks in a teams own half and also the 10 yards away
from a drop ball restart.
For some referees they seem absolutely reluctant to give the big
decisions, possibly rather than give them to be shown to be
incorrect?
I know it will never happen but we have all seen the
inconsistencies/involvements by VAR in the Prem, then if it was
to be used for a few games in Leagues 1/2 , it really would
actually highlight how comparatively poor and inconsistent those
referees are.

To add to the pedantry, I will point out that other players only
need to 4.5 yards away from a dropped ball restart not ten.

Not implying anything. Just stating a fact. Makes me laugh when
Arsenal manager moaned about a free kick or penalty not going
there way. Yet we have been really unlucky with decisions this
season.
Think Bristol Rovers missed red card after 20 minutes was the
one which annoyed me at the game as I think match officials were
only people not to see it. Saturday's one was so off the ball
would have been amazed if it had been picked up at the time.
