Very subjective. For me, the defender's gone in hard "studs
first" and in my opinion, would justify being sent off. I had to
smile at the miraculous recovery by the opponent. From hobbling
off and up the touchline in apparent great agony to sprinting
back on to the pitch in a matter of seconds. The wonders of
modern medicine. [emoji1]

Think the contact looked minimal, maybe caught the bottom of his
foot certainly isnt studs first into the shin
Yellow probably just about right for me.

I agree, the needless and over exaggerated jump from the
defender make it look worse.

No, what makes it look worse is that he is lunging studs first
directly at the opponent, at speed, with his leg a foot off the
ground. It's serious foul play IMO.

Interesting one this. I agree that the lunge and studs showing
could warrant some to consider it SFP.
That said, I feel the player pulls out. The leg is not straight,
in fact he tucks it up under himself as he seems to display some
thought regards his opponent. As such, the contact is minimal
and I can understand the caution for reckless.
I don't think an appeal if he had been dismissed would succeed.
As such, certainly in the orange category and one that could
have gone either way.

Shortest ever discussion on RefWatch today. For what it’s worth
Dermot’s opinion on RefWatch was that he ‘couldn’t defend the
referee’s decision. Red card’

Just an impression but Dermot seems to be more prepared these
days to say the referee got it wrong and / or VAR should have
advised a review at the monitor. If he is reflecting the PGMOL
view, then maybe it's another sign that Webb wants to be more
open about errors that are made.
It also happened today with the West Ham handball when no
penalty was awarded, and the Sabitzer challenge which he said
should have been a RC with Attwell not even showing a YC
