Marriner - Sheff Utd v Boro

I’ve always been a fan of his throughout his career.
But tonight, wow. That is about as bad as it gets.
Irattic and out of control for 90 minutes, let Carrick and
Middlesbrough run the game. The 45 seconds either side of
Middlesbroughs 3rd have got to be the worst bits of refereeing
I’ve seen in a long time.
Darren Bond absolutely wasted on the boards tonight, he should
have had his usual spot in the middle.

I genuinely have no idea of the Championship scores tonight, but
I am going to hazard a wild guess that you lost 😂

Perfectly decent performance I thought. On the third goal he
played an advantage then Sheff Utd gave the ball away after two
passes too late to go back to the original offence.
Good game to watch 3-3 on YCs and the best team won!

Marriner correctly dished out the red card to the Sheffield Utd
manager just after the third goal was scored. Mr Heckingbottom
was so incensed he kicked the fourth officials board as he was
getting ready to hold the board up for a substitution, thats a
new one on me as far as violent conduct goes.
Thought Marriner was decent all night and ex ref has summed up
the incident for the third Middlesbrough goal perfectly.

Another vote for a good performance by Marriner. It’s always
unfortunate when a team is allowed an advantage and they lose
the ball just too late to bring the incident back but these
things happen.

Big game too! Advantage can backfire but in truth the team with
the advantage should at least keep the ball. It is not the
referee's fault if it goes wrong afterwards! Marriner
occasionally makes errors but is generally a safe pair of hands.
I would be surprised if he had a bad game tbh.

Grass is Green. Night follows day. Bears do their business in
the woods. Judith Chalmers likes a holiday (showing my age with
that one 🤣). The Pope is Catholic. Big Ben tells the
time. Sheffield United lose a game and Blade blames the ref.
