       J GILLETT: S'TON V WOLVES

Excellent to see Lemina get a second yellow for dissent towards
Jarred, something we don't see very often so glad to see.
Good so far from team ref, very heated game and Jarred has
       handled it well.

Haven’t seen the incident concerned but it seems the dismissed
player has only himself to blame.
Good to hear that Jarred Gillett has taken this action and I
only wish some of his erstwhile colleagues would follow his lead
and take strong action on a growing problem within the game that
seeps down to more humble levels.
Also I would add that Gillett was given this game between two
teams near the bottom of the table to test his capabilities…..as
usual he’s up to the job.

This game needed a strong referee. Today I saw a referee who was
strong, decisive referee who used his no nonsense approach to
give a masterclass. You can tell he understands the game as
       well. Perfection!

he was getting was silly Excellent as per normal and stupid
thing to do when you’re on a yellow card run at the referee
       masterclass again

Commenting on the incident only, as I haven’t seen the full
extended highlights or the game as a whole. On the basis of that
incident alone, I think “perfection” is over the top.
I think there is a foul (holding) on Lemina in the build up
       which hasn’t been penalised.
Regardless of that, Lemina’s reaction is not acceptable and I
agree with the sentiment of it being strong refereeing and good
to see that a referee will not shirk dismissing a player for a
second caution on account of dissent. However, I think the
actions of the Wolves 8 (captain - Neves) are more extreme than
that of Lemina in this incident and I’m not sure how necessary
it was to pick Lemina for the YC (or at least not also caution
       Neves).
Can’t criticise the referee for the 2nd YC, but there are points
       to reflect on.

       Perhaps Lemina said something

Mail reports that he was booked for running aggressively towards
the referee. A new one for me but perhaps understandable and why
he was singled out. Mind you, it is in the Mail....

Well the Wolves captain said Lemina said nothing at all.
I am with the MOTD panel when they say the dismissal was
extremely harsh to say the least.

The referee could have made his point by booking one of the
others who weren't on a yellow. However, he appears to have
turned around after the others approached him and so perhaps saw
one individual. What was said, if anything, or the facial
expression used may have influenced his choice of player.
In the event, Wolves won and a decent man has lost his job. And
the referee was not responsible for that. He had a good game by
all accounts, I like his style and players on yellow cards need
       to be smarter.

He must have said something, there is no way a Premier League
referee is sending off for someone just running towards him.
You can't read anything into what the Wolves captain said.
