As raised as a possibility, Michael Oliver has a CL appointment
- Bayern Munich/PSG - so wasn't available for Arsenal V Man
City.

An extremely good reason for Anthony Taylor to get the Arsenal v
Man City game.
Tbh i think even at this stage of the season it had to be Taylor
or Oliver and if Newcastle remain in the top four and not too
far behind on points Oliver might be ruled out of the return
game on 26 April.

Madley for us again…. Third appointment this season.
Hooper with the stand out game and Marriner at AFCB on the
boards will please bmb ( although there is a real threat of
yellow coming out for that match!)
Is Newcastle away kit Yellow ?
Dark blue or third kit is white.
Definitely yellow needed for team Attwell!
Not if Mr Attwell knows what is good for him!
I sense a stint on the naughty step for Mr Attwell may be
coming!
I am sure he will have suffered, just not sure if he has
suffered enough lol.
At least Andre got to put a tracksuit top on to cover his shirt
up.

Well John Brooke’s is certainly on the naughty step.
Poor VAR decision in Brighton v Palace has cost him his VAR
place at both Anfield tonight and the Emirates on Wednesday.
Well done Howard Webb who has also called a meeting of officials
to look at VAR and try to get things better.
Feel slightly sorry for Brooke’s as he is probably
carrying the can for the rest of them, similar to a yellow in
rugby after a general team warning. Marriner replaces
Brooke’s tonight and Coote at the Emirates
Note to Mr Webb - while you are at it please can you say if you
personally feel Utd’s 1st goal v City was right or wrong

When interviewed by sky sports team messrs neville, carney and
cates if i remember right, prior to the friday night chelsea v
fulham game he said although it was ok in law for the goal to
stand the football world expects offside to be given, and will
be in the future.

The Merseyside derby is a massive game for Hooper ( a thoroughly
deserved appointment ) and he needs to have a very wise and
experienced colleague as his VAR and Marriner fits that bill
very well.
As for the Arsenal Man City match, appointing Coote in place of
Brooks is rather like replacing a leaky watering can with a
leaky bucket. However, Anthony Taylor is a vastly experienced
and senior referee and I'm sure he not too fazed by whomsoever
his VAR is.
