       Dennis Alexander Hinsley died 13th January 2023 in Cheltenham
       aged 91
       Birth Q4 1931 Tetbury, Glos
       Marriage Q1 1963 Cheltenham, Glos (Gillian A. Major)
       They lived in Jersey for 35 years during which time he became
       the only "local" to referee the Muratti (other than the initial
       match in 1905) on 9th May 1977 in Guernsey.
       Jack Taylor (Wolverhampton) the World Cup Final referee in 1974
       was initially appointed but was unable to officiate.
       Jim Bent (Hemel Hempstead) was the replacement but his flight
       was fog bound in England.
       Hinsley as senior linesmen took over the whistle as Jersey ran
       out 5-1 winners (Brent Pitman 2, Peter Fleury 2, Alan Pitman;
       Peter Blondel)
       Bent was re-appointed to the match the following year, again on
       Liberation Day, when Guernsey won 2-0 at Springfield (Nigel Le

       Hinsley was an electrician who worked for Metro Vending and the
       Jersey Electricity Company
