Becoming a regular at Bramall Lane this season. Tonight was his
3rd appoint in the last 6 games here.
Been impressive every time, head and shoulders above any other
SG2 official to visit this year.
Seemed a bit more card happy tonight unfortunately, perhaps his
taste of the PL has sent him a bit wavy. But he had good control
of a fairly fiery game and his spot for Tettehs off the ball
head but resulting in a mandatory red was first class. Only man
in the stadium to see it in real time.
Good referee at this level. Perhaps this is his maximum though.

Most people quite naturally want to get as far as their talent
will take them and sometimes it's hard to know where one's best
level is if one hasn't at least had a go at something higher.
It's a fortunate person who does find their appropriate level
and excels there rather than being regarded as a weak member of
a more senior cohort. There should be no disgrace in trying to
go higher but then concluding' it's not for me, I was better and
happier where I was ' Career progression paths don't always make
that easy though.

I can vouch for your last sentence, Whistleblower. I received a
promotion in one of my past employments but it just didn't work
out for several reasons. My employer agreed to my request to
return to my previous job/grade and I was much happier and more
settled. I was glad I "had a go" at it though.

Sounds like an enlightened employer, sadly they aren't all like
that. In my profession I was tempted, at one stage, to go for
the 'big time' and although I would have been pretty good at
parts of it I knew that my attention to detail just wasn't
strong enough and I had no real desire to improve it. therefore
I settled at an appropriate level, found it rewarding in every
sense and was always pleased to hear people say to me; you know,
you should have had a crack at this that or the other more
senior position.

Can easily relate to you both. Over my working career I had some
chances for promotion which I turned down as I didn’t feel it
was right for me; conversely there were some where I would have
grabbed at the chance if things had been offered to me but it
was never to be.
Now in my 60s, happily married with a stable family and working
part time in a job where I feel very fulfilled I can look back
and think that things have worked out for the best and I have no
grudges or regrets
