specific).

Perhaps they were remembering a similar incident with Klopp and
the AAR when Klopp wasn't punished as the AAR said he was just
being "enthusiatic" or some such term.

to grassroots must now be allowed to abuse officials because
they are frustrated and angry.

Absolutely agree and also in terms of managers being frustrated
and having to be allowed to vent being human beings etc, week in
week out we see rugby players involved in massive collisions,
far greater than those in football yet they manage to keep their
heads and not run and scream at the referee for me he does it
simply as Pep knows he'll get away with it or get a slap on the
wrist at worst. If Pep knew he was going to be sent to the
stands and stay there for say the next 5-10 games do you think
he might've controlled himself?
FA need to back the referees better in these cases and the top
referees need to set the example for further down the chain,
whens the last time there's been a red card in the EPL for
abusing a referee? I'm all for managing players as much as
possible and I'm all for leniency and understanding but some of
the antics are becoming a joke and in my view contribute to the
to violence in the lower leagues as we saw in my country
recently

What video evidence are you on about? None was available to him
during the game and after the game, and repeatedly since, he has
always said it was a wrong call and Rooney deserved more! A
recent quote:
Just consider the story Mark Clattenburg tells about one match
between Manchester United and Wigan when he was the referee who
made a poor call for what should have been a clear red-card
offence. “I gave a free-kick against Wayne Rooney when, having
later seen the replays, he deserved more,” Clattenburg says. “He
had elbowed Wigan’s James McCarthy but the FA decided to take no
disciplinary action because I had apparently dealt with it on
the pitch.”
The system, Clattenburg says with some justification, is
entirely flawed. Yet the most relevant part of that story is
that he was referring to a match from 2011. It goes back even
further – longer, indeed, than I can even remember – and every
time one of these incidents comes up it doesn’t make a blind bit
of difference that the referee, in the vast majority of cases,
is willing to accept he made a lousy call. All the FA wants to
know is whether the relevant official had a view of the incident
– and, if so, the case is closed.
