The decisive Coote getting big decisions right and showing
ruthless confidence clearly passed me by somewhat. I have always
thought he was a weak addition to SG1 and his recent
performances have done nothing to disabuse me of that view.

I think Mrs W would be more decisive!

Should be a 3 match ban.

Should Mrs W ever have taken up the whistle I think her
officiating would be quite quixotic and idiosyncratic but she
would brook little dissent.

Our behaviour toward officials recently has been appalling and I
still maintain points deductions are more powerful than fining
teams loose shrapnel financially.

And Coote fined for impersonating a football referee again?

If referees did their job properly and showed cards for obvious
dissent such sanctions wouldn't be necessary.

Possibly, although if that happened then I suspect we'd just
hardly ever see it actually applied, and punishments only really
work as a deterrent if there's a feeling they might genuinely be
applied.
As Nemesis says, I think referees taking stronger action on the
pitch with cards would be an initial improvement.
