Newcastle v Leicester - Darren England

So far, so good from Darren England. In control, fitness and
foul detection good and two nailed on cautions for Newcastle
players, despite the moans and groans from the crowd and the two
miscreants.
Good game so far, but Newcastle should be out of sight having
missed several very good chances

Saw the funny side when he got floored by Bruno, lost his foam
spray too

Yeah that was a funny moment when England went flying and lost a
couple of pieces of his refereeing equipment in the process. He
got up and saw the humorous side which was good to see.
I thought he had a good game throughout, was fair and consistent
in his decisions and the five yellow cards were all justified.
He’s an official I like, unfussy, unflustered and does the job
efficiently.

I'd agree with that, thought England was decent and all yellows
looked correct
Maybe a couple of Leicester players could have been booked
earlier for PI

How does Bruno get away with things?
He had committed four fouls, three which were questionable, and
then tops it all with a tackle from behind on Darren England,
who must have wondered what had hit him, and still no caution!
:) lol

Fully agree with Ashington46 Bruno should of been a nailed on
yellowtobut England failed to administer any justice to him … I
personally wouldn’t of seen the funny side when he got floured
by Bruno / missed two mandatories to Leicester early on … after
imo a very promising SG2 Career doesn’t seem like England wants
to make many waves so sadly he is going to be of no threat to
pushing off Taylor Oliver from the 1/2 perch / we will just
leave that up to the heir to the number one Gillett

I believe the powers that be have many hopes invested in Darren
England. I think he's a very decent referee, whether he does
become a star only time will tell.
I am a great admirer of Jarred Gillett's officiating. However,
looking up when they were born I see that he and Michael Oliver
are quite close in age; Gillett 1986 and Oliver 1985 so their
careers are going to go in tandem rather than one succeeding the
other. When Anthony Taylor retires from International Football
then I think Oliver and Gillett will be this country's top two
representatives. In a bit of ( belated ) succession planning I
think Brooks is being looked to as the next top prospect.

Yes, Brooks is a few years younger I believe than Oliver &
Gillett, a similar age to Thomas Bramall. Isn't Darren England a
little older than Oliver/Gillett?
So from an age profile and potential, as things stand, Brooks is
perhaps in pole position for future development and advancement.
