Safe pair of hands appointed for the first legs! Deserved for
Mike Dean as I think hes had a great season - although
disappointing that his team have been split up with Ian Hussin
on the game instead of Dan Robathan! Oliver always rises to the
big occasions, so a great choice for the London derby!
I wonder who will get the second legs and final? I would predict
Taylor/Pawson for th return London Derby, the other semi final
appointment may well depend on the first leg score! As for the
final, which officials have not yet had the honour and would be
trusted with the occasion? Mason? Tierney? East? Kavanagh?
Attwell? Moss?

The fact there is VAR on the first leg of the Man City game
presumably means they will use it on the second leg at Burton -
last year Man City played Bristol City and VAR wasn't used for
either game.
Both Oliver and Dean have had good seasons so are good
appointments.
As for the final, there seems to be a choice between one of the
more experienced referees (Mason, Moss, possibly Probert or
Scott) or an up and coming referee (Kavanagh, Tierney,
Attwell...)
I'm not sure there's a clear favourite - I'd probably lean
towards it being one of the more experienced referees, with
Mason or Moss most likely, but who really knows.
I think Bobby Madley might have been favourite going into the
season if he was still officiating in England.

Of those you've quoted, I think it would have to be Jon Moss.
Too early for Kavanagh or Tierney in my view, and I'm not sure
the authorities would entrust the Final with Attwell, and
certainly not Mason or East. Possibly one of these for the
return leg at Burton (depending on 1st leg result).

Good set of appointments. Best of luck to all of the officials.
I reckon Anthony Taylor or Martin Atkinson will get the second
leg at Stamford Bridge.

I'll be very surprised if it isn't Moss for the Final. The
teflon coated referee who never does wrong even when he does
wrong.

I think moss is an absolute shoe in. Lets be fair its going to
be Man City v either spurs/Chelsea and moss has done big games
in the past (whether or not he deserves it is another matter)

Moss has probably had more head to head games between the 'top
6' than anyone else so assuming Man City make the final would
probably be the favourite.
Lee Mason has had some good Football League appointments in the
past though, including a Man City V Liverpool League Cup
semi-final and a Championship play-off final.

Any news on the second leg appointments? When are they likely to
be announced?
