       Peter BANKES - Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea

       First time for Peter Bankes not wearing the FIFA badge since his
       nomination a few years ago - always looks strange seeing a
       referee wearing one having been used to seeing them without one
       and vice versa (see also Tierney). I hope he has a smooth game.

       Likewise Brooks not wearing his new badge… surely not a
       production issue?

       The last few years it's taken a while for the new badges to be
       seen. England took until after the fa cup 3rd round last year if
       I remember correctly and I think it was Bankes the year before
       who took a while to get his

       A very mediocre game and in all fairness, a very mediocre
       performance from Peter Bankes. Foul detection is puzzling at
       times and he hasn’t got control of the match. The players are
       tetchy as a result and the crowd are getting on his back.
       Bankes is no longer a FIFA referee and on the strength of this
       display, probably just as well.

       Didn't see the game myself but had a mate at the game. He said
       himself and the rest of the crowd found Bankes very
       unimpressive, to put it politely. He said it was one of the best
       atmospheres at Forest this season so I'd imagine it was a hard
       game to Ref.

       He didn't get any big decisions wrong, but did get a few free
       kicks wrong, and unfortunately those decisions almost all went
       against Forest so he had a very vocal crowd on his back.  By no
       means a disaster, but I suspect he will be a bit frustrated with
       some of the decisions once he watched it back.

       Poor we have got to be truthfully honest, some clear mandatory
       being missed.
       Clear example 10th min forest player running up touch line, into
       clear open space if the Chelsea player doesn’t take him
       completely clean, how he decided it was only a talking to was
       surprising. Jamie Carragher said he was shocked he got away
       without a yellow.
       Plenty for Mr Webb to address, especially getting back to how
       things were 5/6 years ago when everyone knew the expectation of
       what was yellow.
