Andy Madley: Man City v Everton

Feisty encounter so far with 5 yellows, all warranted. Haaland
has completely lost the head after he got clattered in the
opening minute by Godfrey, no foul given which was only mistake
by Madley so far. Haaland and De Bruyne with borderline red
       tackles as well

That Haaland challenge is a red card. What’s the point of a VAR
if excessive force that endangers the safety of an opponent
       isn’t recognised by him/her?

Was the Haaland "challenge" viewed by VAR?

We have extremely clueless commentators here in Ireland so
couldn't tell you. Tarkowski got booked for dissent for
screaming at linesman so that surely would've provoked a review

Surely he could not fail to review that challenge. At speed,
looked like both feet off the ground, out of control. Why did
       that not endanger an opponent?
I really hope that a more liberal regime by Howard Webb doesn't
result in referees being reluctant to issue RCs when necessary.

Shocking challenge right in front of linesman as well. City do
get away with things like this a lot more than other teams

I don't think VAR under Riley would be getting involved there,
there's no chance it will under Webb. Haaland could have no
complaints if he saw red, but it is too subjective to call it a
       clear and obvious error.

I suppose it might be worth seeing a slo-mo as to where contact
was made on the Everton player and how hard, but on that
evidence it would seem the referee mad a very poor decision,
       subjective or not.

More detailed look at tackle begins on 0.53
Think it's the fact he catches him with 1 foot that saves him
but he's certainly out of control
