Carley was fine Friday night, CMK was marginally better than
Exeter on Saturday, both rolling over and letting Saracens do as
they wanted, Pearce was good today

Not sure if the new laws and / or guidelines applied to all
games this round or just the Saints game which was at the start
of the year but Luke Pearce did push things along which was
encouraging. However, if a prop or hooker goes down with an
"injury" set pieces can still be delayed or when a contact lens
comes out as yesterday. We shall see but Pearce was good and I
did not see other games.
As for appointments, I think some officials were having a
Christmas break and the opportunity taken to give others a big
game as there are fewer Premiership games to hand out. Leal and
Makepeace need some incentive to remain full time and imho good
enough.
