       Thought it would take longer than three hours to see a more
       incompetent refereeing performance, but Sampaio certainly takes
       it (just).
       As we all know, Woolmer isn't getting any younger. However, he
       seemed to struggle to keep up with play throughout, leaving him
       to rely on his assistants, who weren't much help.
       In the first half, Nkounkou commits a cynical foul to stop
       Campbell from advancing into a position where he could
       cross/drive into the area. A clear yellow card not given, not
       even a talking to. He was eventual cautioned in the 51st minute
       (2-1) for a similar challenge, so Cardiff would have been down
       to 10 men at that point. Funnily enough, he was substituted off
       moments later.
       Cardiff wanted offside for the Delap goal, but Ng has played him
       on by a yard or two - no issues there. Despite their complaints,
       they fell on deaf ears.
       The big talking point of the first half came when Delap got
       wrong side of Kipre, drove into the area and was brought down, a
       mix of wrestling/trip - a stonewall penalty but was waved away.
       The pair tangled again minutes later but again a decision wasn't
       forthcoming - think that was the right call. Even after the game
       the Cardiff manager has admitted his side got away with one.
       Second half was quieter but his foul detection remained random
       at best. Thompson might have been lucky to escape a card for a
       meaty challenge, but otherwise a sub-standard performance.
