Andre Marriner - Forest

Always like Andre as a referee, but surely the Forest GK was
guilty of repeated dissent.
60 yards from goal, practically standing next to him at the OFR
screen (two other Forest players right there too). Then clear,
public dissent at subsequent PK decision. Then afterwards, boots
ball in his direction (could argue not at Marriner…), but then
more, clear public dissent. No sanction at all.
PL refs really do let everyone down when they just ignore it as
if it isn’t happening.

I think it’s a harsh penalty as there isn’t a lot of contact but
completely agree with you. I also think that if a penalty is
given if has to be DOGSO. Bad mistake from Marriner there

I thought he had got the penalty decisions right up until the
one he gave. Like Cooper said none of them are a penalty but if
you're giving one you have to give all.
Like Ajb95 said if you give that then I agree dogso has to come
into play. Like Arbitre anglais said repeated dissent from
Henderson, he should have gone before that penalty was taken,
and then after he boots the ball in Marriners direction, so if
he hasnt gone beforehand has to go for that, and if all of that
isn't sanctioned then him keep berating him after that, he has
to go. This isn't just a Marriner thing, this is all top flight
referees, which shows its definitely PGMOL and Mike Riley
telling refs to let it go. I can only assume to not 'ruin the
game'

Forest Cheated Out Of Points. On front of BBC page. Not seen the
game but do not need to. This is not acceptable even on this
forum apparently I.e. use of the word cheat.
It undermines referees and does a disservice to the refereeing
community.

I agree, however, they have intimated that it was Forest player
Gibbs-White who actually said this.
I find this hard to come to terms with because almost every
player is involved in trying to gain an advantage by fair means
or foul.

Yes, he said it in a TV interview which I saw in the evening. I
hope the FA pick up on it and charge him accordingly.

I had noted that it was a player as opposed to a manager but it
does not really matter. It was reported with big headlines.
Oops.
Funny match, Times is reporting a row between groundsman and
coaching staff before the game.

I was at the game yesterday as a guest so have no favouritism to
either side. The penalty decisions have been mentioned so not
going into them however what I will say is the altercation
between the ground staff and the Brentford players. In the warm
up the Brentford players were doing their usual thing and the
ground staff were proding down the turf where they had been.
They were on the outskirts shall we say but inadvertently did
get in the way on 2 occasions. I must admit, having been to
hundreds of games in the past I have not seen this before and I
was also at the Forest v Spurs game and they were nowhere near
the Spurs squad warm up then. I can see why Brentford were
unhappy but it didn't really affect their preparations. The
officials were warming up at the same time and didn't need to
intervene until a member of the Brentford coaching team went up
to one of the AR, by that time they really had finished. Strange
by the ground staff but all a bit about nothing!!

Isn’t there something in the PL protocols that groundtaff are
not allowed near teams whilst warm ups are going on?

I agree with the comments that the forest manager Steve Cooper
made - quite simply if the Brentford spot kick was given ( there
wasn’t a lot in it ) then Forest should have seen at least two
of their penalty appeals given for me the push in the back and
the incident where a Brentford player dangled his leg and
tripped Gibbs-White not Andres best performance by any stretch
of the imagination from a referee who usually produces the goods
to a high standard he had a bad day at the office
