Great to see Bobby back.
In my opinion the punishment for his "crime" was completely
unproportionate and excessive in the extreme.

Well the big wigs at FA HQ have finally got their way. You
didn’t need to be a genius to see that they have been opening up
a pathway for the return of Bobby Madley in the last few years
since he returned cap in hand from Norway. To me it was only a
matter of time before he got back into the PL.
I don’t share the euphoria which many seem to have at his
return. My views on his original “misdemeanour” have been
clearly stated before. To me he is very lucky to have got back
where he is. I also feel he is vastly overrated as a referee.
I can now see the F A trying to find a way of getting him back
onto FIFA before it’s too late which would be the final straw.
Sorry Bobby Madley fans out there but that’s my feelings and I’m
sticking with them

Oliver with 3rd Liverpool game and only did them 3 weeks ago.
Same for Taylor at Tottenham (NL Derby). Back to normal with the
appointments. SOme get a game 1 week and then 0 the next, whilst
some go on a run of 3-4 weeks in a row. Disappointing

Good to see Bobby Madley back.
Shocked that Oliver has Liverpool again, he only had them 2
weeks ago. Hopefully a better performance this time. Shame the
PGMOL don’t realise that other referees are available for
Liverpool vs Leeds at Anfield.
Tierney working with Kavanagh again. Bad thinks seem to occur
when those two work together.
Good that Marriner is back.
Shame no game for Gillett.
Madley, Jones and Hooper with good games again.

The number of referees out in Europe on Thursday will have been
a limiting factor in Saturday's appointments. Assuming
Harrington/Marriner weren't getting a game due to being out
(Marriner seemingly on the comeback though), the following were
available for Saturday:
Tierney
Taylor
Oliver
Madley
Jones
Salisbury
Brooks
Bramall
Scott (not sure if he was available as he's not been given
anything at the weekend)
Apart from Bramall/Scott, everyone else has a game in the
middle. Depending on how they view Liverpool v Leeds, there's
an extremely limited choice for that game, and Tierney/Taylor
have both had Liverpool more recently than Oliver.

I’m in total agreement with Hendo (sorry, I still can’t quite
work out how to reply to an individual post. I still suffer with
severe technophobia!) No idea why the unadulterated joy at Bobby
Madley being back? A very limited referee in my opinion, who
used to get pelters on here when he was a regular in the Prem.
It’s a mystery to me, but each to their own, obviously. Good
luck to him, hope he does well this time around, but I stand by
my belief that he’s just not up to it at that level

Good to see Bobby madley hopefully this is a test game before
confirmation of a promotion and then a run of prem games
Might then lead to being on the fifa list like he was before and
then being in the middle for UEFA comp games/fifa qualifiers
Any thoughts?

I'm all for giving people a chance of redemption so good luck to
Bobby Madley on his chance. I don't think he was ever an
outstandingly good referee, though clearly he has some powerful
Patrons probably on the Yorkshire Refereeing circuit, and so I
think his re-appearance in SG1 is not really in doubt and will
surely happen though I think his FIFA badge has probably gone
down the swanee for good. I don't think the current standard of
much of the SG1 is so good that Madley will look out of place.
I saw him referee at The Valley earlier this season. I have
never met him so can't comment on his personality, off the pitch
he may be a shrinking violet, but on it his was a very
egoistical style of refereeing making much of the game about
himself. It's one way of doing it but doesn't happen to be a way
I like or admire.

I’m all for giving second chances out but I think there are more
deserving candidates for a place on SG1 list than Madley.
Pleased to see Hooper with another match involving a top 6 team
