Daniel Siebert - AC Milan vs Chelsea

Penalty and a red card after after 15 minutes. Very soft
penalty. I think it had to be a red once given but wow that’s
harsh. Siebert is struggling in this crazy atmosphere. Too many
soft free kicks so far. Blowing for everything.
I’m not sure Siebert will be in Italy for a while
Teams like Milan are pathetic. Every decision they surround the
referee.

Agreed, very poor decision for the penalty, not a convincing
performance so far, doesn't appear to have control of
proceedings, and been rather fussy with free kicks, not the
performance he would've wanted or needed having been out the
fold a little while.

Tomori pulled Mount back several times and there's no doubt it
impacted his ability to get a shot away. I'd say a brave
decision, but it has backfired somewhat as Siebert has looked a
little bit like a rabbit caught in headlights since.

A very poor performance but as Mr Savage has mentioned plenty of
times, he’s been consistent

Not in London with Makkelie? Maybe they are a different team at
home…
The annoying thing is, if Mount falls during the pull nobody
talks about a harsh decision. Now he stood on his feet and made
a shot on goal. We can be sure that UEFA’s preference is
play-on.
I like Siebert and his treatment has been a bit “odd” after the
EURO. Was pushed heavily until that Atletico-Man City game.
After that game, he was assigned to conference league- and even
a Nations League D match. That doesn’t really help a WC referee
to grow his confidence?? I hope the punishment after the game in
Milan won’t be heavier because it’s an Italian team but I fear…

I was watching the game, like others have said Mount goes down
no-one moans whatsoever, it's the fact that, surprisingly, he
tries to get a shot away and stay on his feet. People were
moaning in the pub I was in, saying its a penalty but a very
harsh red, but I explained if its a penalty its a red card.
I feel for Siebert because he lost control from then on, with
the crowd really getting on his back. I fear he will be punished
quite badly for this.

That was the line Robbie Savage was peddling on commentary, in
that it was a penalty but not a red card. Until someone
obviously got in his ear and it changed to "once he's given it
then it can only be a red card".
